Hibernate® is a nutrient medium for the maintenance of neural tissue or cells in ambient carbon dioxide levels (US Patent 6,180,404).
BrainBits® is the sole supplier of custom Hibernate Medium.
When combined with Papain, Hibernate-E without Calcium is useful for gentle enzymatic digestion of embryonic CNS tissue for cell isolation.
